It largely depends on what kind of business you have, BUT word-of-mouth is the best free advertising you can get for most businesses. Print cards (there are affordable or even free ones online) and give them to all your friends and family. My mom has been doing a home business for 12 years. She does amazing business. She is always really busy (too busy!!!). She says her best advertising is through word of mouth, but she also advertises on the back of the church bulliton (sp?), has business cards that she carries with her and displays in our front hallway (many customers take several to give away!), and she also has magnets and pens with her name, address, and phone number on them. She also has her name in the phone book toward the front (alterations by ms. Mary). that way she’ll be one of the first seen. these are just a few ideas.
